Leading voices in the HAPs industry – TAO, with its expertise in high altitude stratospheric platforms (HAPs) and with bases in Germany and the UK is now a member of The International HAPs Alliance consortium of global technology companies and research partners, seeking to develop telecommunications from high altitude including the stratosphere. Other member partners of the Alliance include Ericsson, Nokia, AT&T as well as Airbus and Intelsat. Communication coverage from the stratosphere is a hot topic worldwide and with various approaches to flight in the stratosphere, TAO continues pursuing its SkyDragon program, using its cost effective segmented lighter than air recoverable platform concept.
